Policy on Non-Discrimination
Any kind of discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, religion, language, ethnicity, gender, and disability is strictly prohibited at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University). The University maintains a zero-tolerance policy against any form of caste-based prejudice or marginalization and handles every reported matter with utmost sensitivity, promptness, and seriousness.
Officials, faculty members, and administrative staff are required to strictly desist from any act of discrimination against SC/ST students or staff members on the grounds of their social origin. The University ensures that no official or faculty member indulges in any kind of discrimination against any community or category of students. KJU will take strict disciplinary action against any erring official or faculty member if any such incident comes to the notice of the university authorities.
Students and staff can freely lodge grievances regarding caste discrimination through the dedicated online portal, by approaching the SC/ST Cell, or by utilizing the physical complaint register maintained in the Vice Chancellor's Office.
Objectives & Key Functions
- Ensure effective compliance with statutory affirmative action frameworks and reservation policies mandated by UGC and Government authorities.
- Promote a culture of equity, inclusivity, and mutual respect across all academic departments, student forums, and campus activities.
- Provide a transparent, accessible, and confidential channel for lodging and resolving complaints concerning caste-based discrimination or harassment.
- Conduct regular awareness drives, sensitization workshops, and orientation sessions for students, faculty, and administrative staff.
- Facilitate academic mentoring, guidance on scholarship opportunities, and career support initiatives for SC/ST students.

Vice Chancellor's Office Complaints Register
A dedicated physical complaint register is permanently maintained in the Vice Chancellor's Office for direct, confidential in-person submissions.
Time-Bound Committee Enquiry
All received representations are taken up promptly by the SC/ST Committee, ensuring fair hearings, natural justice, and strict confidentiality throughout the enquiry.
